Encouragement

Nourish: a summer series for Lutheran homeschooling mothers

You are invited to “Nourish” your mind and spirit this July with a curated daily reading plan and occasional conversations designed to feed your mind, broaden your understanding, and encourage your heart during the summer months!

Each weekday in July will offer opportunities to begin your day with Truth (a small portion of scripture to read, meditate, and reflect on), Goodness (10-15 pages of reading from select sources), and Beauty (a poem, song, hymn, or experience in nature to enjoy and contemplate). Three times during the month, we will meet over zoom to share thoughts and discuss the ideas ignited by the readings.

To prepare for the month, you are encouraged to collect the following materials:

  • Your current Commonplace journal or a notebook or journal you can designate as one for your month’s reflections, sketches, copywork, etc.
  • Leisure: The Basis of Culture by Josef Pieper (New and used copies available on AmazonThrift Books and other online sources for around $15 or less)
  • Babette’s Feast by Isak Dinesen (Several used copies available on Amazon and Thrift Books. Very reasonably priced on Kindle and Audible. – The Audio book is read by Coleen Dewhurst, “Marilla” from the old Anne of Green Gables miniseries 🙂 )

Any additional readings, paintings, poems, etc. will be easy to find online or will be scanned and added to the packet you receive in late June after signing up.

Register to receive the Nourish packet and invitations to the Zoom gatherings!
