Encouragement

Nourish: a summer reading group for Lutheran mothers

You are invited to join us for Nourish, a four-week online study for the month of July to reflect, contemplate and enjoy the fellowship of reading together with others during the gentler summer months. This reading program is designed for anyone who wants to cultivate habits of reading and reflection as well as practice the art of nature study, picture study, memorization, and journaling. For those currently (or considering) homeschooling or for those who teach, it is an opportunity to participate in and model some of the habits of mind you seek to inspire in your students. For all, it is an opportunity to continue the path of lifelong learning and growth in wisdom and understanding!

Throughout the month you are welcome to do as little or as much as you like or have time for and join in on some encouraging and nourishing discussions over Zoom.

Selections will include (but are not limited to):
The Wise Woman by George MacDonald
-Selections from Orthodoxy by GK Chesterton
-Selections from Plutarch’s Lives
-Poetry from Diary of an Old Soul by George MacDonald, Gerard Manley Hopkins, and more
-A study of Proverbs 8 and other scripture
-Hymn study
-Fine Art study of paintings and sculpture

The study will begin July 6 and run through July 31. The first two-week packet will be sent out in the last week of June. Cost for Nourish will be $25, with scholarships available.

Stay tuned: registration will open in early June!
